Mt. Timbak - Scaling the third-highest Peak in Luzon

Scaling Mount Timbak was really such a great experience! Meeting with new folks, be inspired by the locals, sharing insights and laughing over silly jokes with the Conqueror Outdoor Club it was indeed a meaningful and fun experience that I will treasure forever.

Dare to Climb a Mountain?

We face a lot of challenges everyday of our lives. Some are easy to handle while some may seem too much for us to take. And as I gradually became fond of climbing lately I realized that Life is.. Life is also a mountain to climb!

From Religiosity to Relationship

I was very sincere in seeking God. But I also saw the reality that my religiosity in church did not carry over to my life at home. I got angry at my nieces and pinched them whenever they touched my things, gave my mom, my ate, a weeks/ or month of silent treatment in rebellion to their strictness, spent hours devouring novels and giving way to my imaginations. I was selfish and self-centered.

Warm Bodies - Worth Watching :)

Watched "Warm Bodies" last night with boyfriend. When I first heard the title, I thought it was some kind of a morbid thing. But the movie was actually cute and funny movie! "R" (the lead character), I dunno but still looks charming  despite his slightly rotten exterior. :p I soO love his choice of song too! esp. 'missing you' of John Waite.

Warm Bodies is a light romantic comedy movie that talks not just about caring for someone--it's more about the joy and happiness that comes with such a "connection". :)  It did give me the impression of how LOVE can heal us and LOVE breathes life back into people.

This movie reminds me that indeed, Love can change things :) and yes even zombies at times! ^^

Advance Happy Valentines to All! ❤ ❤ ❤

Joseph Kony - The Worst Criminal in the World

Joseph Kony is the notorious leader of Uganda's rebel guerrillas. He has an army and what he does is he takes children from their parents and gives them a gun to shoot and  makes other shoot other people. And for 26 years Kony has has been kidnapping children to his rebel group that called LRA.

Joseph Kony
Turning the girls into sex slaves and the boys in the child soldiers.
Turning the girls into sex slaves
Turning boys in the child soldiers
He makes and mutilate people faces and He forces them to killed their own parents. Since his reign, Kony has abducted more than 30,000 children using ruthless tactics.
Kony mutilate faces

In 2002, the International Criminal Court (ICC) was started to find and demand the arrest of the World's worst criminals, and Joseph Kony is number one on their list. Although there are lot of warlords, murderers and dictators in the world  (Abdullah senussi at Muammar Gaddfi are just one on the list) the perversity of Kony's crime made him first on the courts list. These are the crimes that are against humanity and war crimes committed against the civilian population including slavery, rapes, abductions.

Kony is the first guy indicted by the ICC (International Criminal Court)
Its obvious that Kony need to be stop, BUT the problem is many of us doesn't know who he is. I hope you could take time to watch and share this video. (https://s3.amazonaws.com/kony2012/watch_the_film.html)

I am shocked and almost cry watching this video. I actually feel the need to share and create awareness to those who doesn't know Joseph Kony. I am joining the movement to help capture Kony and stop the LRA, and this is my little way to help Jacob and the invisible Children. To spread the news and help make Joseph Kony famous NOT to be celebrated but to be stopped.

Good Job! Mr. Steve Jobs!

Steve Jobs have been a true inspiration to so many people.  And I was actually stunned and saddened when  I saw it trending that the Apple co-founder Steve Jobs has passed away. It's still fresh in my memory when Jobs has announced that he is leaving Apple.
“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, that day has come.” :(
Mr. Jobs said in his resignation letter last August. Sadly, but now this brilliant innovator has  gone for good. Goodbye Steve Jobs I believed your contribution to the world wont be forgotten, you've changed the tech industry forever in so many ways that effect millions of peoples lives on a daily basis, you helped to change the world.

Really people like him are God's gift to humanity and the world.

RIP Steve Jobs, 1955-2011.

Job well done!

    Understanding the Gift of God

Here are three points to help us understand this gift of God called grace.

God’s Justice is when He gives us what we deserve.
All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. Ephesians 2:3

We all rebelled against God (Romans 3:9-18) and we all deserve eternal punishment in hell. The truth is, the drive to commit sin comes from our sinful nature, which is judged from the start (Ephesians 2:3). This is why any of what we think as good deeds is still unacceptable. And because God is just, sin has its punishment.

God’s Mercy is when He does not give us what we deserve.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4,5)

Because of God’s mercy, being spared from the punishment is now possible. This does not mean that God is violating His character to let us off the hook. It was Jesus who actually took the penalty of our sins. Instead of us dying on the cross and being hell-bound for eternity, Jesus became our substitute. The punishment of sin was accomplished on Jesus.

God’s grace is when He gives us what we do not deserve. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the
incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
    Ephesians 2:6,7

In Christ, we are not simply spared from the punishment we deserve but we also receive the blessings that we do not deserve. This grace or blessing comes in different forms. Some of those are, becoming a child of God (1 John 3:1), having the power to say “no” to sin (Titus 3:5), the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), etc.

Bus falls off Sucat Skyway - driver dead

A Dimple Star Transit Bus, route Lawton to Alabang accidentally banged into a concrete post of the Skyway near West Service road in Sucat causing the bus to fall down from the South Luzon Expressway Skyway this morning. The driver was declared dead this afternoon. While six others were injured.

Some of the passengers have been rushed to Parañaque Medical Hospital.According to the bus conductor's account, who were reportedly sustained minor injuries, they were driving at 70kph when suddenly a wind blew hard causing their vehicle to lose control and to fall 40 feet from the Skyway ramp.

In an earlier interview, Ed Nepomuceno, spokesperson of the Skyway Corp., said they are still trying to investigate what caused the bus to steer out of control. Nepomuceno quoted that it is possible that slippery road caused by the strong rain made the bus turn to the side and fall off the elevated highway though they are also looking into possibilities that the bus was going over the speed limit for buses, which is 80 kilometers per hour (kph).

Abstract Of Atis Leaves - Anti-Dengue Solution

Atis is one of my fave fruit. It is very refreshing and may be eaten raw or made into an excellent ice cream. Atis is considered as among the country’s important crops given its various uses not only for food but more for natural medicines. Aside from bearing fruits of white, sweet, soft, and juicy, also yields leaves where government health researchers found extracts for the formulation of an effective anti-mosquito repellant. As a result of its latest studies on atis, the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) said it has came out with the Atis Lotion Mosquito Repellent that was formulated using the extracts of its leaves mixed with other locally available materials.
“This mosquito repellent will surely be a great help to the efforts of the government to address the dengue fever-menace currently spreading terror among residents especially school-age children in various parts of the country,” Tomas Briñas, the regional director for Bicol of the DOST announced.
It is not only against dengue, but against all mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and filariasis especially in areas of the country where incidence is high. It also serves as a personal care product used in preventing mosquito bites that cause itchiness, inflammation and discomfort to individuals, he said. The repellent uses a washable, mineral oil – based formulation and its biodegrable since, it is derived from advantage against other well known repellents which are chemical based in formulation.

The Atis Lotion is composed of 10.125 percent mineral oil, 1.02 percent Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, nine percent Propylene Glycol, 0.22 percent Methyl Paraben, 0.135 percent Propyl Paraben, 70 percent water and 10 percent plant extract, Briñas said. The leaves, bark and seeds contain alkaloid and chloroplatinate, a group of nitrogen-containing compounds that are physiologically active as poisons or drugs that are used as ingredients for medicines that kill lice, Briñas said.

Need a cost effective way to get rid of mosquitoes? Try making your own Atis leaves candles or citronella candles and eliminate mosquitoes while providing a romantic, outdoor setting.

Google+ Sign Up Now and Get Connected!

I've been waiting for the google+ project since I've started following the  updates on google Plus button three months ago. But it seems that Google is still keeping silent about the launch date. Infact google isn't sharing invitations to its latest project with everyone. Glad I received an invitation from my boss 2 weeks ago.

On July 7, I heard the news from a fellow blogger that Google allowed again users to invite their friends to join the Google+ but it lasted only for few hours. According to Google+ engineering director Dave Besbris they "feel comfortable enough to open up invites for a brief period."

Though Google will continue to throttle invites. This is to ensure also that bugs are fixed while there are still a relatively few people in the field trial.

However, if you want a Google+ invite and can't wait on its public release, try to login using your Gmail ID from Google+ website.  If it doesn't work shoot me your Gmail account and I'll send you Invites! :)  Cheers!

Google +1 Button to Compete with Facebook 'Like'

Google just announced their new personal recommendation button the Google +1. I guess, this is Google’s direct competitor to Facebook’s ‘Like’ button. ^^

This is a must read to all SEO. Because the NEW SEO is the social vote so this is very important! Adding Google +1 button is really a must to include in all SEO strategy.

Basically, this is how Google +1 button works. If you have a Google account and you are logged in while you are searching on Google you may see search results with recommendations from people you know. Things they shared on Twitter, Flickr, Digg and other social media sites.

Basically, this is how Google +1 button works. If you have a Google account and you are logged in while you are searching on Google you may see search results with recommendations from people you know. Things they shared on Twitter, Flickr, Digg and other social media sites.
“Today we’re enabling you to share recommendations with the world right in Google’s search results. It’s called +1—the digital shorthand for “this is pretty cool.” To recommend something, all you have to do is click +1 on a webpage or ad you find useful. These +1’s will then start appearing in Google’s search results."
The +1 button will appear next to each search result. After pressing the +1 button, you have the option to undo the action immediately. (Just like facebook like button huh!)

For instance, I'm Planning a trip in Calaguas Island, when I do a search, I may now see a +1 from my Bestfriend Calaguas Island hopping next to the result for the happenings in the area. Or if I am looking for 2011 Fashion Clothes, google will show me a +1's from my Top fashion designer schoolmate.

The importance of +1’s is their relevance - you get the right recommendations (because they come from people who matter to you), at the right time (when you are actually looking for information about that topic) and in the right format (your search results).

However, I've just tried now and it's not available yet for websites just for Google Search.  But eventually? I guess, this Google plus one button will surely apply in all blog sites.

Well, this new update really makes it official Social Marketing is real. It will change then the SEO game on Google. Personal votes might be more important than link votes. Google SERPS will get even more personalized than they already are. Also, with personal votes I think the results will be even more different.

    What you think?

    Pasig Love Ko

Our mother earth needs saving. Different environmental campaign are seen in the news, radio, on print ads,  and now if you noticed some companies are even trying to cut down by sending us our monthly bills through our account online.

Recently, an anti-littering and intensified waste segregation campaign was launched in Pasig City, "Pasig Love Ko". This is to help lessen the volume of waste that will be accumulated and dumped into garbage disposal sites. It is important to segregate our waste since Christmas and New Year's Eve are approaching surely the volume of waste usually increases. Glad that our Mayor, Honorable Bobby Eusebio intensified the Pasig City love ko Campaign. Where they have launched a project dubbed "Pa Zero" or "Bukod-Bukod na Basura Tungo sa Zero na Basura" this is also to help encourage us, pasigueños to segregate our waste and re-cycle re-usable materials

The project was initially launched in San Jose, Bagong Katipunan, Sta. Rosa, Sumilang, Santolan, and Kapasigan. We should immediately start learning how to segregate and recycle some of our waste not just in accordance of the "No segregation, no collection of trash" advocacy. But also, on our own little way we can do our share of helping the earth.

    Easy Grounding Techniques

This grounding techniques was shared by a therapist whose happened to be my friend's cousin. According to her, its  one of the technique that they apply to their patient. This helps the patient to bring them out of a flashback. So I assumed that this technique is also good when your suddenly triggered, scared, or I must say could be a help to put someone back into their body.

The only 'rules' is to go as quickly as possible and to keep track of the countdown on your fingers. It can be done anywhere, you can talk out loud or say it in your head. You can even do to this exercise on the computer.

    Counting from 5 - 1
    • I See - Name 5 things that you see
    • I Hear - Name 5 things that you hear (if a room is quiet you can also make some noises like clapping your hands)
    • I Feel - Name 5 sensations in your body (not your feelings), or touching things around you and say how they feel.
    • I See - Name 4 things that you see
    • I Hear - Name 4 things that you hear
    • I Feel - Name 4 sensations that you feel.
Use the 'post a comment' section at the top of this post to share your thoughts. Your comments are what makes this thing fun! I LOVE to hear from you and do my best to respond to everyone! THANK YOU!
